Finally the day has come. This morning Lindsay and I woke up to a couple inches of snow. A beautiful way to start a day for a wonderful event. Kenna is getting adopted today. While the actual adoption is still a few hours away the feeling of excitement is still there. It really seams like yesterday that we were able to finalize Ayden's adoption. the funny thing about the adoption is that this is just the legal aspect. Lindsay and I felt she was a permeant member of the family long ago. I figured I give a run down of her name as several people have asked where we came up with Kenna Allie Mae Wyatt.
Kenna — Kenna is because of me, and my side of the family. Kenna is the name of a wonderful friend of our family. She and my Father met I long ago (actually doesn't seam like that long) when they worked for Que, a book publisher. Then latter my dad worked with her again in California, when they worked with Osborn McGraw-Hill in there computer book publisher division. She has always been a kind and open to my brothers and I. To me she has always been an example that a woman can be strong independent successful and well educated. All qualities that any father would want for his daughter.
Allie — Allie comes from Lindsay's Grand Mother's Name. I never got the chance to meet her. Every-time lindsay talks about her you can hear the love she showed to her family. I think that is where the name at least for me fits for Kenna. You look at her and cannot help but feel love for her.
Mae — Mae is actually a double dip name. It is both of our mothers middle names. It's one of those weird coincidences life throws at you. The choice was simple. Lindsay and I decided long ago that we wanted our kids to have part of there names be family names. Names we felt would honored those that we cared about. That is why Ayden has Allen Colin as his middle names (named after our fathers), and that is why Kenna has Mae.
Wyatt — Well thats our families last name - duh.
